History
The park of Ambras (about 20 ha) was established between 1566 and 1570 during reshaping works of the medieval Fortress Ambras which was intended to become a summer residence for Archduke Ferdinand II and his wife Philippine Welser. The landscape park in English style surrounds the castle in Renaissance style. In 1997, a Renaissance style bed for flowers was made according to a model book of the 16th century.
